HIV/AIDS Prevention Programs
OUR PROGRAMS
Fundamentals includes the most up-to-date information about the impact of HIV and AIDS in African American communities. It provides culturally specific activity options, and emphasizes encouraging HIV prevention behavior. One Earth instructors use interactive activities to help make community sessions culturally relevant.
The One Earth Foundation HIV/AIDS Programs was developed under the leadership of American board of directors and volunteer staff of the One Earth Foundation working in partnership with community organizations. The revision of the program provides new educational strategies and guidance for facilitating skill-building activities to encourage and support prevention behaviors.
Our instructors are trained to conduct factually accurate, nonjudgmental, culturally appropriate HIV/AIDS prevention sessions that promote self-protective behaviors. One Earth Foundation collaborates with other organizations to deliver these sessions in classrooms, places of worship, community centers, and other places where teens and adults gather.
Using a series of activities including role playing, brainstorming, practice and demonstration, and youth to youth leadership. The sessions help participants build critical skills towards preventing the spread of HIV. These skills include decision-making, problem solving, negotiation, and refusal.
